Since established in 1996, the Animal Shelter has been through a lot of changes.  If you have not been by in a while you should come by and visit the new staff, our new facilities, and see all of the changes that we have made.  Most important, come see our animals that are available for adoption.  Our adoption rate is about 52%.  We would like that number to be larger and with your help we can make that goal.  The shelter is always in need of donations, such as money, food, or your time as a volunteer.

Who We Are
We are a city-run shelter that handles animals within the city limits of Rogers, Arkansas.  We strive to provide caring, competent, and professional assistance to the animals and community.  We have recently built a new facility that will enable us to be of greater assistance to our community and surrounding areas.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption procedure is very simple.  Find the perfect pet that you can give a "forever home". Our staff will help match your personality and needs to the pet that best suits you and your family.  Adoption cost is $61.00 per animal.  This includes: micro chipping, vaccinations, and worming, a free visit to the vet for a "wellness check" and the spaying or neutering. Appointments are made (with the vet of your choice) at time of adoption and $40 of your adoption fee is accepted by local Veterinarians as payment for the procedure.  Animals that are already spayed and/ or neutered at time of adoption go home the same day for $36.00.  Those animals going to the vet will be dropped off by shelter staff on their appointment day.  The new owner will then pick the animal up at the vet’s office after the procedure is done.

Other Services:

If you are put in a position where you can not keep your pet and you live in Rogers, you can surrender your pet to the animal shelter.  You must call and make an appointment first.  We do however encourage you to find a new owner by placing ads in the local paper, on bulletin boards found at feed stores and shopping centers, etc., as the shelter is limited on space. If you decide to surrender your pet a fee is required at time of drop off.  Please do not drop your pet off at the shelter without an appointment!  Thank You

Friendly Reminder:

If you live in the city limits of Rogers, your pets must have rabies tags and city tags on at all times.  This is a City ordinance and it helps Animal Control return dogs to their homes safely.

To obtain the city license, the current rabies vaccination certificate issued from the licensed veterinarian should be presented to the Rogers Animal Shelter at 2935 W. Oak Street.
