      Tom Jenkins - Chief
                           

Fire Chief Tom Jenkins joined the Rogers Fire Department in 2009. Prior to his arrival in Arkansas, Tom served as Deputy Chief for the City of Sand Springs (Oklahoma) Fire Department. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Chief Jenkins is a 2006 graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He also became Arkansas's first Chief Fire Officer Designee from the Commission on Professional Credentialing in 2010. Chief Jenkins serves on the Industrial Advisory Board for Oklahoma State University's Fire Protection and Safety Program and also serves as an adjunct professor for Oklahoma State University and Northwest Arkansas Community College. 



      Bryan Hinds - Deputy Chief - Training and Special Operations                                                         

Deputy Fire Chief Bryan Hinds joined the Rogers Fire Department in 1997.  Chief Hinds promoted to Captain in 2002 and Battalion Chief in 2007.  Chief Hinds previously served RFD as the Citywide Tour Commander for B-Platoon.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science Administration from Waldorf College and an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Paramedicine.  Chief Hinds is a current participate in the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.  In 2013, Chief Hinds received the Chief Fire Officer designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. 



 
 
      Calvin "Eddie" Thompson - Battalion Chief - A Platoon                                                                                         

Battalion Chief Eddie Thompson has been with the Rogers Fire Department since July of 1992. Prior to his employment with the Rogers Fire Department, Chief Thompson was enlisted with the United States Air Force  (Fire Protection Division). Chief Thompson started his career as a firefighter and steadily moved up through the ranks, promoting to Captain in July of 1997 and Battalion Chief in September of 2002.  Chief Thompson currently serves as a Citywide Tour Commander assigned to "A" Platoon.



 
     
      Cliff Thompson -
Battalion Chief - B Platoon
  
     

Battalion Chief Cliff Thompson joined the Rogers Fire Department in 1997. Chief Thompson became a certified paramedic in 2000 and promoted to Captain in 2002. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Service Administration and Prevention Technology from Western Illinois University in conjunction with the National Fire Academy. Chief Thompson is a graduate of the Arkansas Chief Fire Officer Program. Chief Thompson was recognized as a Fire Officer Designee from the Commission on Professional Credentialing in 2010. Chief Thompson served as a validation committee member for the textbook titled Structural Firefighting: Truck Company Skills and Tactics 2nd Edition published by the International Fire Service Training Association. Chief Thompson also served as President of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association – Northwest District. Chief Thompson currently serves as Citywide Tour Commander assigned to “B” Platoon.





      David Whitlow - Battalion Chief - C Platoon                                                        
  

Battalion Chief David Whitlow has been with the Rogers Fire Department since 1988. Chief Whitlow was hired as a Firefighter/EMT and has worked his way up through the ranks. David was an original member of the Northwest Arkansas Hazardous Materials Response Team.  He promoted to Captain in 1992 and promoted to Battalion Chief in 2002.  Chief Whitlow currently serves as a Citywide Tour Commander for "C" Platoon.


     

 
   
   
      Travis Hollis - Battalion Chief - Fire Prevention
              
  

Battalion Chief Travis Hollis started with the Rogers Fire Department in March of 2000. He began his fire service career in 1995 and promoted to Battalion Chief in 2003. He holds certifications as a hazardous materials technician, national registered paramedic, and as a national wildfire firefighter.

Previously he has held the title of President of the Arkansas Fire Marshal's Association, Arkansas Fire Code Revision Committee member, and NW Legislative Representative of the Arkansas Firefighters' Association.

Currently, he is in charge of several programs and projects such as Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) Accreditation, Insurance Services Officer (ISO) Evaluation, National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) Management, Mobile Data Terminals, and Information Technology.

 
   



Staff Officers (Training and Fire Prevention Divisions)

     William Huntington - Captain - Training Division (EMS Program Manager)


 
William "Bill" Huntington serves as a Captain assigned to manage the emergency
  medical services component of the fire department.  Bill was hired by the RFD in
  1997 and promoted to Captain in 2007.  He has previously served as the
  Hazardous Materials Coordinator for the department and was the first Director of
  the Special Operations Team when it was formed in 2010.  Bill serves as the 
  department's representative to various state and regional committees dealing with
  emergency medical care and trauma. 

 


      Josh Chapman - Captain - Training Division               
  

Josh Chapman was hired by the Rogers Fire Department in February of 2005. Prior to his employment with RFD, Josh was enlisted in the United States Marine Crops as a machine gunner and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Josh promoted to Captain in March of 2011. He currently serves as a Captain assigned Training Division. Additionally, he serves on department's Special Operations Team.

 

     
      Dennis Thurman - Captain - Training Division
               
  

Captain Dennis Thurman joined the Rogers Fire Department in March of 2001. Dennis began his career in February of 1999 with the Fayetteville Fire Department. He became a paramedic in 2005, graduating paramedic school as class valedictorian. Dennis became an associate faculty member at the Northwest Arkansas Community College in 2001 teaching both Fire Science and EMS courses and was named co-coordinator of the Fire Science program in 2011. From 2009 to 2011, Dennis served as a field instructor for the Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training technical rescue programs. Dennis, a ten-year member of the RFD Special Operations Team, was appointed Technical Rescue Coordinator in 2010. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in June 2011 and was placed in charge of Truck 5 and Rescue 5. Dennis is currently serving as a Captain in the Training Division where he was assigned in August of 2012.

William Rumsey - Captain - Fire Prevention Division              
  

Bill Rumsey was hired by the Rogers Fire Department in December of 2004.  Prior to his employment with the RFD, Bill was a career firefighter with the City of Hutchinson, Kansas.  In 2008, Bill was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to the position of Assistant Fire Marshal.  Bill currently serves in the Fire Prevention Division and is responsible for fire inspection, plan review, and fire investigation.
