Rapid Deployment
...a balanced allocation of dedicated resources to minimize
short and long-term impacts on people and property.
Community crisis intervention requires a balanced allocation
of dedicated resources to minimize short and long-term
impacts on people and property. In Rogers, Arkansas, the
police and fire departments share the intervention role
depending on the field of expertise/skills required. To
mobilize its crisis intervention resources in an efficient
yet timely manner, the fire department uses the Rapid
Deployment Force (RDF) team concept.
The RDF team is the building block unit for assignment to
emergencies and is supported by additional pre-planned
resources depending on type, scope, and location of
incident.
Key to the success of the Rapid Deployment Force team
approach at the Rogers Fire Department is the distribution
of the staff/apparatus/equipment resources strategically in
the community. Short response times are vital in most
emergency medical, fire suppression, rescues situations. Our
operations are based at five fire stations across the city
with planning for a sixth early in the 21st Century.
