The
Hawkins House
The 1895 Hawkins House presents a glimpse of how a
middle-class family lived in middle America at the turn of
the 20th century. Take a guided tour through its six period
rooms to learn about the Hawkins family and their way of
life.
A major renovation and redecoration of the house in 1994-95
was recognized by major awards from the Victorian Society in
America and the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas.
Take a look inside the Hawkins House

First Street recreates a bank, barber shop, and general
store of 1880s and 1890s Rogers, showing detailed
representations of turn-of-the-20th-century interiors. Look
at photographs tracing the development of Rogers’ historic
First Street. Play a game of checkers or touch some of the
artifacts from the shops. Watch a video showing downtown
Rogers in the 1910s and 1950s.

The Attic is a hands-on area in a replica of the upper
story of a Victorian house. Try on old clothing and explore
books, toys, and household items from the Teaching
Collection. Favorite items include an old typewriter, sewing
machine, and crank telephone.

The Caboose is a mid-1900s Frisco caboose located in
Centennial Park (two blocks from the Museum) in busy
downtown Rogers. The caboose serves as a reminder of the
town’s railroad history and complements the park’s new
depot-styled pavilion. The caboose is open to the public
during regular Museum hours,
May 1 through October 31.
