Horsebarn

Constructed to date: 1.3 miles
The Horsebarn Trail section runs through the Metropark
development and includes the city’s most unique trailhead
and park. Through a public-private partnership, the largest
rain garden in Northwest Arkansas was built in 2010 as part
of the Horsebarn Park and Trailhead. The rain garden
features interactive ecological displays of landscape
features designed for preservation of soils, trees and other
vegetation, as well as protection of the Illinois River
Watershed. The adjacent 2.53-acre park offers playground
equipment geared toward varying age groups. The trail
connects to the Bentonville trail system at Walton
Boulevard, north of the Metropark development.
